Antique Vintage Wood Shaft Tom Stewart Niblick 57*

This item is an antique vintage right-handed 35 1/4" iron. It is a lined face niblick/wedge. Made by Tom Stewart of St Andrews Scotland. The head is clean and not all rusted. It does have the expected minor play nicks and dings. Shows lots of wear. Please look at the many zoom pictures for a better idea of condition. The shaft is an old hickory. The shaft is straight, I see no cracks and it has some play at the hosel. All hickory shafted clubs should be re-set prior to play. The grip is an old long leather wrap that is in fair vintage condition. 57* loft and a B 8 swingweight. If you are considering playing with this club all wooden shafted irons should be re-set prior to play. While I see no issues with the shaft (other than those mentioned above), I suggest that whipping be added just above the hosel to help prevent breakage. These wooden shafts often have hidden defects and are liable to break at any time. I do not guarantee wooden shafts against breakage when put into play. Never hit an old wooden shafted club off a driving range mat. Never hit an old wooden shafted wood with a hard range ball. Shipping in the US is calculated and based on a 3 -pound  box. This item shipped UPS Ground. For those of you that never ship but only receive items, the further you are from me in NC the more shipping will be. That is the way the carriers charge. On top of that, eBay and takes almost 15% of what I receive for shipping (out of $10 I receive $8.50) and I would like to break even. eBay collects sales tax for many states.
