Macgregor Response MI 615 Putter Nicklaus 20Th Weighted head- 1986

Up for sale is a rare 1986 Macgregor Response Zt MI 615 Putter. This was the model putter Jack Nicklaus used to win the 1986 Masters. When shown this putter in 1985 Jack said "Is this a joke?". He was shocked at how big the head was, but did take one home to try out. In early 1986 he put it into play but wanted it painted black. He also put a bunch of lead tape in the cavity, he felt it was too light. To replicate what he did I pulled the shaft of this putter and installed some lead weights, 13 grams. The putter measures 36", the shaft is in great condition, the original grip is dry and the head shows typical dings and wear. The putters large head does make it hard to twist offline.
